Encyclopedia
The encyclopedia was invented during the Northern Song Dynasty under the ruler of Taizong (first emperor of this dynasty). The encyclopedia was created so people would have general knowledge. General knowledge is like common sense, something that everyone has the ability to know. Encyclopedias could be found in wealthy households, and private libraries. At first the rich would buy them to complete the collection of books. Not long after everybody had encyclopedias they were applying it to everyday life. The encyclopedia was used as a source of knowledge, it contained many different aspects of life in one book. It was easier to have one encyclopedia on many subjects, then have a lot of books on one subject. The encyclopedia was a very useful invention that we still use in the modern world.

More Suicides?
Breaking news: The peasants from Southern Kaifeng find death more pleasing than leaving their farms and helping work on irrigation systems, building roads, and canals. These projects are due to the raise in taxes. This extra money will go to the Armies weapons and armor. “This tax increase is going to a good cause but the consequences for us are unreal,” said by a peasant after hearing he had to build numerous projects for the city.
“I know that the people who aren’t in the army don’t like that their hard earned money is going to weapons and armor for us. What they don’t realize is that if we don’t have money for armor and weapons we will die in war and Kaifeng (where all these people live) would be overrun. Then they would be forced to move somewhere else,” said a General after hearing about these suicides. How many people will die before Shezong decides to lower taxes?
